Lydia Mavrou comes from a musical family since her father Alki Mavros was a longtime singer of rebetiko with collaborations such as with Takis Binis, Poly Panou, Ioanna Georgakopoulou Babi Gole and others.
Following in her father’s footsteps, Lydia became a singer of folk and rebetiko.
Her first song was “Here the moon does not pass” in lyrics by Eleana Tsesmeli, who musically dressed the documentary by Costas Ephraimidis, on the subject of the Greeks of the Black Sea, which had been shown by ERT.
Music in the poems, poems in the music.
Melodic poetry, and musical snapshots of the life of Ioannis Polemis, are uniquely performed by Lydia Mavrou entitled “Serenade”, with music by Nikos Kyriazis and poetry by Ioannis Polemis
The song “Serenata” with its Official video, directed by Panos Iliopoulos and full of positive aura, entices us from the first listen to the magical world of Senses.
